I am 20 years old and live in Brisbane, Australia. I currently study science at university. My main interests are photography and sport. I am in the process of setting up the photo side of my life so that it becomes profitable.
Photography:
I bought my first camera in 2006 and since then I haven’t put one down. Over the last few years my gear and experience has advanced (due to my money being put in) and I am now at a position that I can make really good photos. I am a mac man, and for me the adage is true; ‘once you go mac, you never go back’. I do a lot of photo editing and have been building up my skills in photo manipulation over the past few months.
With the help of my brother Jeremy (Penjuinlabs) I am creating a website for my photography company. This is a slow process, so please stay tuned. The website is Nelpix. Until that time, please view my photos through my Flickr page
University, science and other things:
I am currently (as of 2009) in my third year of a Bachelor of Science undertaken at the University of Queensland. This degree has been kind of like a part time job for me. I’m at uni 5 days a week, so it hasn’t given me a whole lot of time to work on long term creative projects such as photography. Even though there are the time restrictions, I’ve still found time to take as many photos as possible 
The subjects that I take centre on the biomedical sciences (eg human reproduction, cardiovascular science). These subjects, although difficult at times, are very much in line with my interests. Obstetrics is certainly an area of interest to me.
As well as going to university, I also try to play or coach as much sport as I can. I am now in my third year (as of 2009) coaching both cricket and rugby youth teams. This has been a rewarding experience and a good side earner for the full time uni student. The coaching has been at my previous high school. During the year I also play social basketball and touch football. For those of you that haven’t played touch before, it is a very fast paced game that I find really enjoyable.
Sport is a large part of my life, whether it be watching or playing it. A combination of my photography skills and sport in the future would be ideal for me. For those unaware of the photojournalism world take a look at Sports shooter.
